I scream, you scream, and we all scream for ice cream more enthusiastically when that ice cream is free. On National Ice Cream Day, celebrated each year on the third Sunday in July, lots of businesses offer free or discounted scoops, cones and pints — making it a holiday worth celebrating for hardcore ice cream fans and casual enjoyers alike.

This year, National Ice Cream Day, which dates back to 1984, falls on Sunday, July 20. Here are some cool offers to scoop up either on the day itself and/or during the month of July, which is National Ice Cream Month:

Baskin-Robbins: The ice cream chain is celebrating National Ice Cream Day for a full week, from July 20 through July 26, because, the brand says, “one day just isn’t enough.” That week, Baskin-Robbins Rewards members get $5 off orders of $20 or more placed through third party delivery.

Bubbies Ice Cream: This year, Bubbies Ice Cream and Whole Foods are kicking off National Ice Cream Month by offering a buy-on-get-one promotion on all Bubbies Ice Cream products (gluten-free, rBST dairy-free mochi) from July 2 through July 15.

Burger King: The fast-food chain is celebrating National Ice Cream Day by offering Royal Perks members a free Soft Serve ice cream with the purchase of $1 or more on July 20.

Dairy Queen (DQ): DQ is celebrating for a solid week leading up to National Ice Cream Day. From July 14 through 20, DQ Rewards members can get a free Dilly Bar (vanilla soft serve dipped in a crunchy coating of chocolate, cherry or butterscotch) with any order of $1 or more placed through the DQ App or website. The offer is valid at participating U.S. locations and limited to one per DQ Rewards member.

Dippin’ Dots: On Sunday, July 20, at participating locations, Dippin’ Dots ice cream will celebrate National Ice Cream Day by giving away free mini cups of Dippin’ Dots (any flavor) during a two-hour window at our franchise locations. The first 100 people in line will also get a free souvenir take home cup as well. Participation and giveaway hours vary by location, so check with your local store or the Dippin’ Dots locator.

Dunkin’: Dunkin’ is offering its Rewards members 3x points on Frozen Beverages for National Ice Cream Day on July 20, in addition to $3 medium Refreshers.

Friendly’s: Those who join the Friendly’s Fan Club Rewards program can receive a free cone or dish of ice cream on July 20 for National Ice Cream Day and those who are not members can get 90-cent single scoop ice cream cones or dishes either in-store or to-go.

Graeter’s: In celebration of National Ice Cream Day, Graeter’s is offering its Sweet Rewards Loyalty Program Member $1.55 single-dip sugar cones from Friday, July 18, through Sunday, July 20. Graeter’s is also marking National Ice Cream Month through July with its annual Coloring Contest: Children who submit a completed coloring sheet will get a free scoop of ice cream.

Jeni’s: To celebrate, on National Ice Cream Day, July 20, Jenny’s Splendid Ice Cream is offering customers the option to add Sundae Fudge Sauce to any order for free.

Klondike Bar: For National Ice Cream Month, throughout July, Klondike is making digital coupons for its treats live across Fetch, iBotta and Walmart Cash.

Marble Slab Creamery: Every Sunday in July (National Ice Cream Month), Marble Slab loyalty members will receive surprise offers valid for seven days. And on National Ice Cream Day, July 20, loyalty members will receive a free small ice cream offer, valid for seven days.

My/Mochi Ice Cream: Every Sunday in July, which is officially National Ice Cream month, My/Mochi is giving away “summer chill packs” with ice cream coupons and other fun merch. On National Ice Cream Day, July 20, fans have a chance to scoop up a year’s supply of its premium ice cream when they follow My/Mochi on Instagram, like a post, comment with summer plans, and tag a friend.

Petco: The pet store chain is offering pets a chance to get in on the National Ice Cream Day deal action, with free pup cups of ice cream in-store, courtesy of participating brands, in honor on July 20.

Popsicle: The Popsicle ice pops brand is offering customers a chance to celebrate National Ice Cream Month with buy-one-get-one-free offers at Target, Publix and Kroger all July long.

Talenti: Target Circle will offer a buy-one-get-one-50-percent-off deal on Talenti gelato and sorbetto the week of National Ice Cream Day, July 14 through July 20. That same week, Wakefern will run a two for $9 promo on Talenti treats that same week, followed by a two for $10 deal through the end of July.

Van Leeuwen: Van Leeuwen ice cream is celebrating National Ice Cream Day and the 10th anniversary of its popular Honeycomb flavor by offering $3 scoops of Honeycomb at all shops nationwide from 12 noon to 2 p.m. ET on July 20. Additionally, one ice cream fan will win a 3-gallon tub of Honeycomb ice cream, the Lovesac x Van Leeuwen Honeycomb CitySac, and a newly launched Material ice cream scooper. For those in New York, Van Leeuwen Tribeca will offer the first 100 guests a scratch-off ticket offering the chance to win prizes.

16 Handles: On National Ice Cream Day, customers can get a free soft-serve treat (up to $5) when they download the 16 Handles app and visit a participating location Sunday, July 20.
