Bio
Sam Bithoney is a self-taught cook, gardener and food writer with 10 years of experience. He enjoys taking his family camping, making pizza for his friends and neighbors, and touring baseball stadiums, or as he calls them “food courts with a cover charge.”
He lives in southeastern Massachusetts with his family and rescue dogs.
Experience
A veteran line cook who began a writing career in 2016 with Skillet, the food and beverage subsite of Lifehacker.com, Sam focused on recipes, but educational posts such as “How to clean your grill and not burn your house down on Memorial Day” and making emergency gnocchi with instant mashed potatoes were never far behind. Despite nearly two decades of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cooking, his true culinary passion lies in pizza making. Whether it’s 2a.m. dough making, securing a steady supply of tomatoes or scouring markets for the perfect mozzarella, it’s just another day in the life of an amateur pizzaiolo working out of his garage.
Education
Sam holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from the University of Massachusetts.
